I swear I have been cooking, I just haven't found the time to upload the pictures yet- so I'll try and do so for everyone this week. This year so far has been a busy one, Matt was home, and then I had to travel for work down to Duke. That was scary and exciting all wrapped up in one. I had to lead an all day presentation with questions coming from all sides- and I survived, and they seemed satisfied with the presentation.
Matt and I had a nice weekend down in Raliegh. We went to Big Boss Brewery which has a free tour and tasting the 2nd Saturday of every month. And it is just a nice local beer and apparently a big event because it was PACKED! We also were able to meet up with Chad and Amanda while we were down there, and this helped Matt discover he does enjoy Wii and it isn't just a toy he makes fun of our parents and friends for having. We stay at the same hotel everytime we go to Raliegh because it is huge and right next door to this great restaurant that is almost mediterranean, so of course we swung by there again.
Also museums are free in North Carolina- which is great for us poor kids, but also a big suprise for me. So inbetween getting kicked out of the hotel and flying back to rochester, we had some spare time and checked out the North Carolina Museum of Natural History, which isn't as much fun as an acquarium because not all the exibits are alive, but it did a great job of replicating a lot of the area's animals. And it did have some live exhibits which were the highlight to Matts day lol.
We have been busy travellers this month because we also took a trip up to the Boston area to visit Kristy and Jim. I hadn't been to Boston in 8 yrs so we took a stroll down to the Quincy Market area, and ate at the Oldest Restaurant in America, Ye Old Oyster House. Which although not really our style as it was kind of cramped and a little old, the food was nice and we got to experience part of history. We also went Indoor Rock Climbing in Worchester and had a great time although I was not very good at it. All of us were a little achy when we were done. But it is definetly something we want to get better at, and we have already bought our Rock climbing shoes so that we can practice more :)
Other than that we have been busy getting Matt's school applications in, and me filling out FAFSA and TAP forms, and training to be a lacrosse ref- which is also tiring. But overall this month has been busy but good so far, we had a nice sunny weekend here in Rochester that I was able to go out hiking with my hiking group which in the middle of January is a nice relief to be able to get outside.
